2002 LAMONT’S MUSEUM RELEASE R.D METHODE CHAMPENOISE.
This unique sparkling wine uses traditional Methode Champenoise production techniques.
Its release celebrates Lamont’s thirty years in the wine industry.
Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Fermentation: The base wine is made using free run Cabernet Sauvignon, separated from the skins straight after crushing. For complexity a component of the wine was fermented on partial solids. Secondary fermentation was completed in the bottle and aged on yeast lees for 6 years before release. The wine is hand riddled and hand disgorged just prior to release to retain freshness and refinement.
Bottling Dates: November 2002.
Quantity: 210 cases.
Colour: Pale gold with a deep hue.
Bouquet: Yeast autolysis characters, lanolin, crème brulee.
Palate: Lifted grapefruit, fine mousse, cleansing, lingering dry finish.
Cellaring: Recently disgorged (R.D) for all eminent celebrations.
