2006 LAMONT’S DONNYBROOK MALBEC.
Lamont’s most recent release straight Malbec, sourced from Donnybrook in the Geographe Zone.
Harvest date: Barreca’s Vineyard (Donnybrook), 28th April 2006.
Blend: 100% Malbec.
Fermentation: Fermented in small open topped fermenters for ten days with both wild and cultured yeasts before pressing to 20% new (Seguin Moreau) and 80% second use French oak barriques for a total of two years.
Bottling Date: 12th August 2008.
Quantity: 226 cases.
Colour: Medium brick red.
Bouquet: Highly aromatic floral bouquet, underscored by fleshy red fruits and a little spice.
Palate: Essency bouquet, dark fruits on the palate layered with florals, with a hint of gamey, savouriness.
Cellaring: Will develop complexity with medium term cellaring.
